Sara Hincks
I have lived in Wells for five years and in Somerset for the past forty and have strong connections in the community. I am a passionate advocate of state education. My boys were educated in the local school system, where, in the early 1990’s, I was a parent governor.
My professional life was spent in the NHS, where I have fifteen years of clinical experience as a nurse, midwife and health visitor. Followed by twenty years of health commissioning. This work focused mainly on maternal, children and young people’s services. Retiring nearly seven years ago, I am a little rusty on child development research and practice, policy shaping, audit, governance, training design and delivery, project management, public engagement, managing budgets and data analysis but with a little polish am able to shine these skills towards Stoberry Park School.
In addition to volunteering on the Somerset schools’ appeals panel I also support our local Oxfam book shop, which satisfies my interest in literature. Until curtailed by COVID, I supported Coram Beanstalk working with primary school children to encourage a love of reading.
